What equipment do you need for a restaurant?
This question can be answered based on what type of restaurant you’re planning to open.
Every restaurant serves unique dishes that requires a certain style and size of equipment to prepare the dishes.  However, there are essential equipment that is MUST to have in order to serve any type of dishes. So here are some of MUST have equipment:

Without hood system, you won’t able to cook any food.  This is a MUST have item for any restaurant. Hood system comes in different sizes and this is based on size of your kitchen.  Hood system is equipped with, exhaust fan, makeup air, ducting, and fire suppression system. 
Reach in refrigerator or freezer:

It is must to have refrigeration system to store all your produce, fish, meats, eggs or any other perishable items to be refrigerated at all times! This is one way to keep all of your food fresh and prevent from any food spoilage or possible food poisoning. ​
Ice machine:

Ice plays an important role when it comes to food service industry.  Without ice, it is very difficult to serve cold drinks to your customers.  Ice can also be used making blended drinks or keeping food cold before serving ( salad bar, sauce, dressing, or cooling food temperature down)  Size of ice machine will be determined based on size of your restaurant or type of food serving. Typical normal size of ice machine starts from 300 lbs production per day.   
Griddle or charbroiler Grill:

When it comes to hot food, you will need something to cook your meats, fish, eggs or vegetables.   Griddle is very popular demand when it comes to hot food. It basically a large plate sitting on top of burners which creates heat all over the metal surface.  So you can cook eggs, saute onions, fried rice, hamburgers, hotdogs, steaks, and so on.  Charbroiler grill can be added to char your meat to give that extra flavor.  
Fryer:

Besides your main dishes, you may have side dishes or appetizers.   What’s good way to serve a hamburger? Side of French fries. Having a great fryer means you can fry up many appetizers like, onion rings, chicken wings, calamari, corn dogs, eggrolls…
Range burner oven:

Now you have pots and pan to cook.  You will need range burner over. You can heat up soup, boil water, steam cook vegetables, cook eggs, and bake food inside the oven at the same time.
